Let’s have lunch together.
Ohh.. Why? Is it your birthday?
No. It’s Appreciation day.
Really? It’s my first time to hear such.
Yes. It’s Appreciation day for us.
I’ll mark this day, then.
Thank you.
Thank you!
Three calls. One instant message at YM and I found my feet rushing to the ground floor of Building 27, tracing Healthcare City’s only restaurant – Sino Chai. Rarely do we get this kind of invitation from a manager. What’s the lunch treat for? Plainly a gesture of appreciation. How nice. It’s the second time we, Pinays, got a treat from a manager. The first one was at Seoul Garden in Karama, a certified food haven for all Korean (and non-Korean!) expats.
He’s Egyptian so we knew he might not want to eat Chinese-Taiwanese food. But since we love the superb taste of Sino Chai’s green tea ice cream, we convinced him to celebrate there. I was all smiles as I emptied a glass of ice cream. My photo resembles the euphoria I felt as the green tea ice cream melt in my mouth. I forgot to mention their beef stew and radish cake are utterly delectable. (I hope the restaurant’s manager likes the last two sentences on this post and gives us a discount on our next visit.)
