Finding the perfect place to stay when you’ve got the whole family in tow can feel like a treasure hunt. Especially when everyone has their own “must-haves.”
Me? I crave comfort. My partner? He’ll happily pay extra for convenience. And our little one? Well, let’s just say a delicious breakfast is non-negotiable. Did I mention that “breakfast” in our family is basically brunch? Sleeping in is non-negotiable.
Airbnbs are usually my go-to, but they often lack one crucial thing: an on-site restaurant. And when those morning (okay, mid-morning) hunger pangs strike, who wants to wrestle a cranky kid and a caffeine-deprived partner out the door in search of food? Not this mama.
During our recent trip to Quezon City for a family event, I discovered Ardenhills Suites via Agoda; thank God it had not just one but two restaurants on site.
A Quezon City Surprise
Quezon Avenue and I go way back. Countless commutes during my college days ingrained every landmark in my memory. But despite our long history, this old friend managed to surprise me. It was like finding a secret door in a familiar room. Turns out, there’s more to Quezon Avenue than the usual spots.
While hunting for the perfect family-friendly hotel, I spotted a newcomer: Ardenhills Suites, standing proudly along the road to ABS-CBN Station. It was like finding a secret door in a familiar room. (Apparently, this place is brand new! Agoda says it was built in 2023.)
Location, Location, Location (and a Warm Welcome)
Ardenhills Suites is conveniently located near Aberdeen Court, which was perfect for me since we attended an event there. But even if you’re not hitting up Aberdeen, it’s a great base for exploring Quezon City.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and helpfulness. The staff even escorted us to our room. It was a lifesaver when juggling luggage and a sleepy child. It’s those little things, right?
Our Comfortable Haven
We booked a Standard Room on the 6th floor, and it was surprisingly spacious. The room offered a lovely view overlooking the city. We especially loved the large window with two giant seats and footstools – my boys spent so much time lounging there. It was the perfect spot to unwind with a cup of coffee in the afternoon (we brought our own coffee beans so we could have coffee anytime – we do this all the time; feel free to steal this idea).
Family-Friendly Features
Ardenhills Suites knows how to cater to families. Free stays for kids 5-11? Check. A pool and playroom to unleash those little wild things? Check. A delicious breakfast that’s half-price for kids 6-11? Check, check, check! Just be warned: Those mini-bar snacks are tempting, even for tiny humans. My son (who, thankfully, ate breakfast for free since he’s under six) may have staged a mini-raid. Mama’s learning to pack extra snacks!
Amenities to Enjoy
I’m used to hotels providing the basics, but Ardenhills Suites takes it to a whole new level. Sure, they’ve got the standard free Wi-Fi (perfect for catching up on work…or, let’s be honest, indulging in some online retail therapy). And yes, there’s a fitness center (which I sadly didn’t have time to use, but hey, who needs a treadmill when you can go for a scenic jog around UP Diliman?). But what really impressed me was the sheer abundance of bathroom amenities. They’ve thought of everything—combs, shavers, toiletries. It’s like they’ve anticipated your every need. As a host, I relate to overthinkers.
The pool looked enticing, but sadly, we didn’t have time for a dip. But we did check out the kid’s playroom on the fourth floor (same area as the pool, spa, salon, and events room). It was well-maintained, but our little one lost interest after about 20 minutes. (To be fair, he’s more into playing with other kids than toys.)
Here’s a quick rundown of what we loved:
- Spacious and comfortable rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Delicious breakfast included
- Free Wi-Fi
- Convenient location
- Helpful and friendly staff
The Verdict?
Ardenhills Suites isn’t your average newbie hotel. They’re here to impress, and they’re doing a damn good job of it. The food at Patio (their buffet resto)? Delicious and affordable. The room? Stylish, comfy, and perfect for our family. Add in a killer location and a breakfast that fuels even the sleepiest of heads, and you’ve got a recipe for a great stay. Ardenhills Suites, you’ve officially won me over.
