Carissa, #CEBSuperPass just for YOU!💛

That’s the personalized email subject line I got from Cebu Pacific. Who wouldn’t swoon?

I was answering booking requests at Issa Suites, minding my own business, when this gem landed in my inbox around 11am. I wouldn’t have noticed it if not for my eagle-eyed partner, who spotted it on my desktop. (Thanks, Neil!)

Cue the internal squealing. The promise of P99 flights to those gorgeous Philippine islands? It’s enough to send this mama into a mad state of joy.

That’s what happened. The Cebu Pacific Super Pass sale was launched today, and it was like a digital stampede. Unfortunately, my room’s wifi signal was weak, so the first time I tried to book, I got an error message. It was almost 12 nn and my son was sick (as I was), we had to prioritize lunch over this. Booking could wait.

What is a CEBU Super Pass

For those like me who have yet to get their CEB Super Pass, it’s a ticket for travel flexibility. CEB Super Pass holders could snag low base fare (P99!) and decide where and when to go later (technically until December 2025). Genius, right?

Here’s the need-to-know info:

Eligibility:

  • Are you human? (Infants on laps, you’ll have to wait your turn!)
  • Got a MyCebuPacific account? (If not, what are you waiting for? Sign up!)
  • Ready to abide by the Conditions of Carriage? (You know, the usual “don’t bring a live chicken on board” kind of stuff.)

Purchasing:

  • One million vouchers up for grabs: While it’s not something I can confirm, it was the claim. In my head, it shows up like a digital piñata, but instead of candy or chocolates, we get cheap flights. (Way better, right?)
  • Online only: No sneaking into the Cebu Pacific office with a stack of cash. (No, I haven’t tried it, but I can’t say I’m not tempted.)
  • 10 vouchers max per transaction: But hey, no one’s stopping you from doing multiple transactions, just know that you’re subject to a fresh queue per transaction. (Go forth and go to those 80+ provinces around the country!)
  • Double-check those deets: Make sure your name matches your ID. (Or you have the IDs of your loved ones and Barkada to ensure the names match.)
  • Payment options: Credit/Debit Card, GCash, Maya, GrabPay, or Travel Fund.

Redemption:

  • Website or mobile app only: No calling your Tita who works at the airport. (She can’t hook you up this time.)
  • Domestic flights only: While Cebu Pacific has international flights, this sale is only for domestic destinations.
  • One-way flights: Worry not, you can redeem two vouchers for a roundtrip adventure. (Twice the fun, right?)
  • Redemption timeframe: 30 to 7 days before departure. (So, no procrastinating!)
  • Seat availability: It’s a jungle out there. (May the odds be ever in your favor.)
  • Base fares start at just P99 per flight: Just remember that VAT and a P350 web admin fee apply to each CEB Super Pass. Even with these additions, you’re still getting a good deal!

And a few more things to keep in mind:

  • Validity: Those vouchers expire, so use ’em or lose ’em!
  • Non-transferable: Sharing is caring, but not when it comes to CEB Super Passes.
  • Flight disruptions: Cebu Pacific has your back, but be sure to check their policies.

Okay, now that we’ve got the nitty-gritty out of the way, let me tell you about my CEB Super Pass saga!

With travel dates stretching all the way to December 2025, today’s CEB Super Pass sale was hotter than a sizzling plate of sisig. And here’s my quest to grab 10 vouchers:

  • 11:33 AM: Email from Cebu Pacific arrived! My heart did a little dance.
  • 11:59 AM: My fingers flew across the keyboard, frantically entering passenger names and travel dates. Adrenaline pumping, I could practically taste the salty air and feel the sand between my toes.
  • 12:00 PM: GCash payment… error message. Record scratch. Momentary panic. But hey, a little turbulence never hurt anyone, right?
  • 12PM – 3:30PM: I obsessively checked online for any clues about what went wrong. Discouraged, I was ready to give up and started drafting this very blog post with a sigh.
  • 4:04 PM: A glimmer of hope! I tried booking again, this time just for myself and Cyd, and the payment miraculously went through. But the saga wasn’t over yet—there were no email confirmations and no vouchers in my account!

Four hours and countless page refreshes later, I almost gave up. Was this Super Pass sale really worth the trouble?

But then I realized something. This whole experience showed how much we Filipinos love to travel.

  • We’re hungry for adventure: The sheer number of people vying for those passes? My social media feed was flooded by them. Proof that Filipinos are born with a serious case of wanderlust. Cebu Pacific, take note: we need those servers fortified and ready for the next travel tsunami!
  • We love a good community huddle: The Cebu Pacific Facebook page was buzzing! Tips, commiseration, virtual high-fives… it was a reminder that we’re all in this travel-loving boat together.
  • Payment glitches and server problems are a learning opportunity: Scan the comment section of the CEB Super Pass social media post folks and you’d find complaints on payment glitches and confirmation delays. Cebu Pacific, this is feedback your team can learn from for the next promotion. It’s your chance to fine-tune the system and make the next campaign smoother.

I actually got charged for 10 vouchers, but they haven’t shown up in my account yet. I checked Cebu Pacific’s X and Facebook pages, and it seems like others are having the same issue. Hopefully, it gets sorted out soon!

If it’s true that there were a million CEB Super Passes up for grabs, we’re gonna need to pack our patience, keep our fingers nimble, and get ready to secure dates for our vouchers (redeemable starting Nov. 29, tomorrow!). May the persistent sale hunters win!

UPDATE on CEB Super Pass Confirmation Glitch: November 29, 12:53 AM:

Cebu Pacific charged me for the 10 CEB Super Passes, but I never got a confirmation email until now (Friday, November 29 at 4:21pm).

Their chatbot, Charlie, was no help.

So, I filled out Cebu Pacific’s Feedback form instead (based on their official X’s account). Fingers crossed this works! I’ll let you know what happens.

Update (as of December 3, 2024, 4:05pm): Cebu Pacific sent me an email entitled “CEB Superpass Payment Validation” on November 29, 10:20pm. I filled out the form on the same day and a day after, but I still haven’t heard back from them. To be fair, they said to wait for “7 business days.” It’s a waiting game from here on.

I’ll keep you posted!
